Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
What is EFT?
EFT is a form of energy medicine or more precisely, a form of energy psychology. It is based on a foundation statement from its creator Gary Craig, that “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system”. When energy flows freely in our bodies we have health and well being. However traumatic life experiences can cause the energy to become blocked creating stress, illness and emotional imbalances. EFT helps to resolve these imbalances quickly and effectively.
How Does EFT Work?
EFT involves tapping on a number of points on the body's meridian system - the same system that is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine by acupuncturists, except in EFT no needles are used. EFT also differs form acupuncture in that whilst the points are being tapped, the client uses specific statements to help them tune into the problem. Focusing on the problem in this way helps to release its energetic disruption, allowing resolution and creating well-being.
What is EFT Used For?
EFT has been used successfully with thousands of people and a vast range of health and emotional challenges. It is capable of dramatically relieving both emotional disturbances and physical symptoms. How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This will depend on the depth and severity of the issue you are facing. Most people need at least 5 sessions to make an impact on the problem, but for long-term health conditions and severe emotional trauma most generally tend to need more.
PSYCH-K®
What is PSYCH-K®?PSYCH-K® is an incredibly effective tool for re-writing the programmes of your subconscious mind. It dynamically changes negative subconscious beliefs into positive ones. It is now understood that more than 95% of our cognitive thinking takes place in the subconscious mind, which means only 5% or less takes place in the conscious mind. This is why we very often feel like we have been “triggered” or gone into “automatic pilot.”
You may have made an intention to change a habit, pattern or destructive behaviour, only to find that hours, days or even weeks later you revert back to old patterns. PSYCH-K® can help to change these patterns, much like re-writing the software of a computer, and the effects are lasting.
What Does PSYCH-K® Involve?
PSYCH-K® uses muscle testing, much like Kinesiology to determine whether there is a negative subconscious belief about a particular issue or problem. Muscle testing works in a very similar way to a polygraph (lie detector). If we say a statement that is true to our subconscious mind the muscular system will remain strong, but if we say a statement that is false, the muscles go weak. This is a fantastic tool for determining what is occurring for us at a subconscious level.
With PSYCH-K® we use a number of processes, known as balances, to create positive subconscious beliefs. These processes are fairly simple and can often create a change in a matter of minutes. When the process is complete we can muscle test again to determine that the change has taken place. For more complex and deeply routed negative beliefs several balances or the use of advanced techniques may be needed in order to create change.
What is PSYCH-K® Used For?
PSYCH-K® can be used in an area of life where you feel like you want to make a positive change, for example:
- health
- relationships
- prosperity
- spirituality
- self-esteem
- personal power
- grief and loss
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This will depend on how many subconscious beliefs that you want to change and in how many areas of your life. Clients often opt for a 5 session programme to begin with, although some do come for a one off session when they have a particular belief that they want to shift around a single issue.
