Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy, which is carried out on the feet or hands. It has been used successfully for thousands of years by cultures from all around the world. It is based on the idea that the feet are mini maps of the body and that there are points or reflexes on the feet which relate to the vital organs, glands or structures of the body. For example, in reflexology, the big toe is the head and at the base of the big toe are reflexes for the neck.
During a treatment, the therapist uses specific massage techniques to apply pressure to the reflexes on the feet. This helps clear blockages and congestion in the body, which in turn allows the body to rebalance and be healthy (the blockages or congestion may have arisen from an accident, injury or illness). When the body is not working in harmony, we are more prone to infection which can manifest as colds, headaches and fatigue. Reflexology is an extremely relaxing and revitalising treatment and is suitable for people of all ages.

Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) - Claire Collins, Ann Hobbs
(Available as a 20 minute standalone treatment or as part of a normal Reflexology treatment).
A revolutionary technique which stimulates reflex points on the dorsal area of the feet while they are in an upright, standing position. This uses the body weight to achieve deeper access to specific reflex points. It also focuses on Synergistic Reflexology which simultaneously works the hand and foot.
VRT is a short, effective treatment which can be used alone or in combination with conventional Reflexology. The body responds rapidly to VRT and it can be incredibly useful when managing the symptoms of pain.
